Members of the New Jersey Dietetics in Health Care Communities have written this diet manual for use by physicians, nurses, dietitians, food service managers, and other health care professionals as a reference guide for planning the nutritional care for residents of health care facilities.

The format is useful to explain the purpose of each diet, with descriptions, meal planning guidelines and a sample menu.  Many pages are appropriate as handouts to instruct residents and families.  Tabs separating the sections will make this manual easy and convenient to use.  The chapters address a wide variety of nutritional requirements, and are intended for adults 18 years or older. 

A special section on feeding problems has been included to address the issues often faced in providing adequate nutrition for the resident in long term care.
