Dietetics in Health Care Communities
of New Jersey (DHCC of NJ)

This organization is a volunteer group made up of Dietitians/Dietetic Technicians who either live or work in the state of New Jersey.

Our purpose is to establish a regular and frequent mechanism to keep dietitians aware of current issues and information relevant to their work and interests; to provide a greater visibility for the dietitian within the structure of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the national level of DHCC.

Our group is a member of the New Jersey Long Term Care Leader's Coalition.                     (NJLTCLC)

               Dietitian/Nutritionist Licensing Act

We wanted to provide clarification on the enactment of the Law. As you know, it has been over a year since the law was signed. However, there has been a delay in approving the appointments to the licensing board and, as a result, no mechanism has been established to regulate the industry. Based on or recent communications with the Division of Consumer Affairs (DCA), they will not be enforcing the law until the Board appointees have been approved by the full senate and the regulations have been adopted. According to DCA, licensure will not be required until the Board has officially been appointed and the regulations adopted.    Last updated, February 16, 2021

Updates will occur through the NJ Academy eblasts or you can contact our legislative chair, Sylvia Lacsina.
